I am an outspoken supporter of the use of biotechnology to address global challenges related to food diversity, food security, and climate change. Currently, only a limited number of species account for most of the world’s food supply, emphasizing the need to conserve plant genetic resources and sustainably explore native species. I believe that biotechnology and molecular approaches provide some of the most effective and innovative tools for promoting biodiversity, strengthening food security, and developing resilient agricultural systems for the future.
